Each Limited Edition is based on Giclee' Technology. Giclee' is a French term meaning "spray of ink". A gicleé (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a high quality, fine art print. The image is placed onto the fine art paper or canvas by applying all colors simultaneously rather than in four passes as done in the four color printing process, providing absolutely precise color registration.
This means you are not buying a cheap lithograph on paper which is published like the local newspaper. You are buying the finest quality digital print that Fine ART Galleries have used for years. It is also the technology that Robert Bateman has used for over 10 years. The result is a print produced with an amazing array of more than 5 million colors. Each print is done one at a time, and each are personally inspected for the finest quality.
This quality printing process is based on the publishers use of the finest fine art papers and canvas...and the use of 200 year archival rated inks that have been time tested for longevity and color-fastness. After publishing, each print is sprayed with an invisible matt finish spray that further protects the print (Fine Art Paper and Canvas) for scratch resistance and moisture resistance.
